After many months of promoting, planning and selling tickets to our largest fundraiser of the year, the night we’ve all been waiting for was a wild success! The energy in the room was palpable as comedians took the stage to kick off a night of laughter. And together, we proved how powerful a passionate community can be, raising a grand total of $4,839.25 for local charity!

The fundraiser, a ‘FunnyRaising Comedy Show’ was generously hosted by Jess Miller Comedy Shows, in collaboration with three comedians: Timothy Lovett, Samantha Hemmingsen, and Linda Belt. Originally slated for Friday, May 31, we made the tough call to reschedule the show to this fall in hopes of facing fewer scheduling conflicts - and what a fantastic choice that was!

The doors to the East Mountain Country Club opened at 6:30pm for over seventy guests who had purchased a ticket to the dinner buffet provided by the hall, featuring chicken cacciatore, pasta with red or alfredo sauce, salad, and dinner rolls - and oh, did it hit the spot! And after an hour of indulging in the delicious buffet, the rest of the audience flowed into the hall and filled the tables for the show!

At 8:00pm, the show kicked off with the rotating cast of comedians, a brief introduction to WMCD Inc. from our director, Harry Monti, and encouragement to buy more raffle tickets and donate to our organization, which led us to the largest fundraiser by 4x that we’ve had since we founded the organization back in 2022!

We also want to extend a huge thank you to Jess Miller and the comedians for an unforgettable night of laughter, East Mountain Country Club for letting us use their hall, everyone who came out to the show and supported our cause, and of course, all our fantastic volunteers, who are the heart of our success.
