ABOUT WMCD INC:
Started in 2021, WMCD Inc. aims to provide hands-on leadership work for middle and high school students, in order to teach them that giving back to the community can be fun and rewarding. WMCD is:
A youth-driven non-profit organization: our Youth Team works year-round to guide the direction of fundraisers, events, and ideas within our organization.
Hosting annual 25-hour all-nighters: by creating a unique overnight event for teens, we build a platform to talk about what leadership and giving back looks like as a teen.
Raising money for local charity: our youth select recipients to benefit each year, and all the funds our youth raise (as a part of their hands-on work) goes to these charities.
ABOUT OUR RECIPIENTS:
Our youth team has selected three local nonprofit charities to benefit from the funds we raise through our 2025 all-nighter:
Rick’s Place - providing critical grief support to children ages 5-18, and their families. We’ve supported Rick’s Place since 2022, and it is important to our youth to provide resources for their peers who are going through a difficult time.
Griffin’s Friends - providing support, and creating moments of joy, for children experiencing cancer. We are happy to continue supporting Griffin’s Friends for a second year.
Rachel’s Table - battling widespread food insecurity by growing, gleaning, purchasing, and rescuing food. We’ve supported Rachel’s Table since 2023, and look forward to continue our collaboration at various events.
100% of the funds we raise on #GivingTuesday will fuel our mission to raise awareness of these organizations, engage middle and high school students in hands-on leadership work to raise money, and benefit these youth-selected recipients.
ABOUT OUR YOUTH:
Comprised of nine students grades 7-12, our youth team meets twice a month, year-round, to plan our annual all-nighters, engage with our charity recipients, and do hands-on leadership work, aimed to develop our next generation of leaders. Hear from our youth team members:
“It’s a sense of accomplishment not possible from anywhere else. It breaks boundaries between you and the people you help.” -Colin White
“WMCD has helped me to pause and reflect on those who are less fortunate or having a harder time than me.” -Lani Ching
“All of the youth team was so welcoming, and I felt like a part of the group immediately. I really like to talk with everyone and help plan and contribute to these events.” -Izabela Rutkowski
AS WE AIM TO RAISE $400 THIS #GIVINGTUESDAY, HERE ARE THE
TOP 4 REASONS TO DONATE TO WMCD INC:
1) Inspire Youth Leadership
Every donation helps us create opportunities for our youth team to engage in hands-on leadership work, funding projects and fundraisers that provide holistic experiences that can’t be found in school extracurricular activities.
2) Support Local Charity
Our youth-selected recipients focus on a wide range of issues in the Western Massachusetts community, ranging from providing youth grief support and battling food insecurity, to supporting children with cancer and their families.
3) Elevate Volunteerism
At WMCD Inc, we work hard to provide volunteer experiences that are not only fun, but customizable to your interests, and build a strong community to make giving back the most rewarding part of your day.
4) Make A Tangible Difference
The statistics say it all. Through widespread community support, we’ve been able to raise $68,505 for four charity recipients, impacting the lives of over 100 student participants and 75 lifetime volunteers.
