The funds raised by the 25-hour event will benefit three recipients selected by a team of middle and high school students.
[WESTFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS] WMCD Inc. announced its annual 25-hour βall-nighterβ for middle and high school students raised a grand total of $33,832.00 for charity, bringing the total funds raised since its inception in 2022 to $102,337.
The funds, raised by a combination of community sponsors, donors, and participants, are to be distributed evenly among three non-profit charity recipients, who were selected by the WMCD Youth Team:
Griffinβs Friends, supporting children with cancer
Rickβs Place, providing critical youth grief support
Rachelβs Table, battling widespread food insecurity
The funds were presented at the conclusion of the Musical Midway Charity All-Nighter, a 25-hour marathon of games, dancing, high-energy activities, food, and more. Students in grades six through 12 participated in limbo, karaoke, bingo, and more. The event kicked off Friday, February 28 at 7:00pm and concluded on Saturday, March 1 at 8:00pm. Through this event, WMCD aims to inspire youth participants to have fun while giving back to their community.
βWith WMCD's backing, we've been able to extend our reach, especially within local school communities, ensuring that those who need our services can more easily access them in safe and supportive environments,β said Therese Ross, Executive Director of Rickβs Place.
βAt the end of the day, itβs important to remember these people are more similar to us than we think. We could be in the same scenario at some point and if we are weβd want the same support. I believe it boils down to empathy,β said Colin White, WMCD Inc. Youth Team Member.
In the months ahead, WMCD Inc. will be announcing fundraisers for its next charity all-nighter to be held in early 2026.
